    • Follow NH44: From Jammu, take the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH44) toward Katra. This is the most direct and common route to Katra from Jammu.
    • Drive toward Nagrota: Follow the NH44 through the Nagrota bypass. Continue on this highway toward Katra.
    • Pass through Udhampur Bypass: You will bypass Udhampur as you head towards Katra. The road is well-maintained, and the drive is smooth.
    • Reach Katra: Once you pass through Udhampur, continue on NH44 until you reach Katra. As you approach Katra, you may see signage directing you to the town.
    • Arrive in Katra: Upon reaching Katra, you can park your car in designated parking lots available near the base camp and start your pilgrimage to the Vaishno Devi Shrine.
      Tips:
      1. Don't think for night journey by car, specially when self driving.
      2. Please keep proper documents handy like vehicle RC, Driving License, Pollution Certificate and Insurance certficate.
      3. At certain checkposts, you may be asked to produce your identity proofs like Aadhar card. Please keep a copy of your AADHAR card ready (for each individuals travelling in the car).
      4. Your baggages may be inspected at the checkposts. Please cooperate with the security officials.
