Shiv Khori or Shiv Khodi is a famous cave shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The cave is situated in the foothills of the Trikuta Mountains, about 140 kilometers north of Jammu. The cave is adorned with stalactites and stalagmites and is believed to be an important pilgrimage site for devotees of Lord Shiva.   • The distance of Shiv Khori is approximately 80 kilometers (about 50 miles) from Katra Bus stand by road. It usually takes around 2.5 to 3 hours to travel between the two places by car or bus.
  • It requires a complete day to visit Shiv Khori. If you wish to visit Shiv Khori, you need to start early morning by taxi or by bus.
  • The fare for traveling from Katra to Shiv Khori can vary depending on the mode of transportation you choose.
  • The taxi fare can range from ₹2500 to ₹4000 for a round trip from Katra to Shiv Khori and back.And the bus fare can range from ₹100 to ₹200 per person for a round trip.
  • The taxi will drop you at Ransoo Village from where, you need to book a pony or start 4 KM tracking.
  • Bus will drop you 1.5 km away before Ransoo and then you need to use local auto which takes Rs 25/- each person and will drop at Ransoo Village.

  • A 3-day Shiv Khori mela takes places annually on Maha Shivratri and thousands of pilgrims from different parts of the Jammu & Kashmir state.
  • Yatra Registration slip is mandatory for every pilgrims and is free of cost.
  • Shiv Khori Shrine Board takes care of all facilities for the pilgrims.
It is advisable to take breakfat or lunch in the Runsoo Village and only tea/snacks are available at Shiv Khodi Generally, the track is not elevated like Vaishno Devi. It is almost flat tracking with stairs. Pilgrims should keep sticks to keep monkeys away. The track is no so crowded and sometimes it is lonely for a while.
